Is a business consultant with 24 years experience in the fashion sector. He has extensive business knowledge and a worldwide network of contacts. Along with a strong belief that good design should be at the helm of any business decision, from product detail to strategy.

Born in Stockholm, Sweden and raised in West Africa during his formative years, spent many years travelling and exploring eastern philosophy. This shaped his interest in what people wear, and the business that supports it. Early innings as manager of The Natural Shoe Store – Covent Garden gave an education in many aspects of retail. Soon to be promoted to area manager for the group, managing new store opening such as G-shock Watch Store. Birkenstocks first shop outside Germany, and the flagship Covent garden store for French high level brand Freelance. He was subsequently head hunted by the Spanish shoe group Camper as store Operations Director for the UK to run and manage the opening of 5 stores. The UK stores became the most profitable within the group.

Next stop G-STAR Managing Director for UK & Ireland, to manage the re launch of the brand. Over the next 5 years sales grew from £400,000 to £35 million. Relocated the Office to Bermondsey London and opened a satellite office in Manchester and developed a franchise shop strategy. During this period he was a part of the main management team in Holland and represented the company in Northern America and emerging markets. He was also listed by Sportswear International as one of the 30 most influential people under 30 years old in the business in Europe.

In 2006 he set up Snask Limited a consultancy company. Clients to date have included two listed companies in Hong Kong, The Bauhaus group (www.bauhaus.com.hk), where Snask Limited managed the international sales and represented the company in the capacity of European and Export Director. During the same period consulted for the IT group (www.ithk.com) to work on license and franchise opportunities. He was stationed in Hong Kong for one week every month. Both these roles required quarterly and yearly presentations to the Hang Seng stock exchange and shareholders.

Within this period Snask Limited won the contract to work with the French premium jeans brand Atelier LaDurance to expand the fledgling brand. The design, logistics, sales, marketing and supply chain were developed and the brand grew from a turnover of €200,000 to €1.8 million in 2 years and won New Denim Brand of the Year at the Sportswear International awards.

Today Pierre Darnton is an advisor and writer for the View 2 trade magazine and is currently based between London and Hong Kong. Pierre travels extensively around the world working with partners in Hong Kong, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Northern America and Europe.
